To fix this problem you need to change movement date before date of task or set date of task after movement date. ### My feeding, treatment... type are not available in selection dropdown Our system is build to maximize individual settings. define your own types in options [/setting/option](https://app.btree.at/setting/option/checkup_types). order of selection menu is alphabetically and favourit type will always be first. If you don't need type anymore set modus to inactive. Careful if you delete type which you previously used statistics and table values may be wrong or missing. ### I'm missing field for my checkups activate various fields for your tasks in options [/setting/field](https://app.btree.at/setting/field). If you are still missing field write us email with your suggestion. We keep user wish list and if enough users want feature we will try to implement it. NFC tags themself buy in most online tech stores and should not be too expensive. ### How to use NFC or QR scanner Both NFC and QR code scanner are meant to help you work faster in field. most simple function is redirect to page you save to NFC tag or QR code. More advanced is usage of hive url, if you save e.g. url to specific hive on tag, eg. `https://app.btree.at/detail/hive/[hive_id]` and are on page with hive dropdown, eg. QuickTool or when creating new movement. scanner will auto select scanned hive in dropdown. As real example, you go to your apiary "" load twenty hives on your trailer to move them to you apiary "B". No, b.tree only works with internet connection. no offline version planned so far. ### Where is my data saved and can I save it local? server is located in Germany and all data is saved in online storage database. Encrypted backups are stored with Bunny.net in Frankfurt, Germany. download copy of your data in csv format [/setting/company](https://app.btree.at/setting/company), we encourage you to download copy at least yearly for safe keeping. On table views it is also possible to export data in csv format. ### How do I delete my account and remove all my data? If you are one of many users in beekeeping operation delete your profile and user data in profile settings [/setting/profile](https://app.btree.at/setting/profile). If you are only user in beekeeping operation all data of operation, e.g. colonies, apiary location will also be deleted. If you only want to delete one of your operations delete it in company settings [/setting/company](https://app.btree.at/setting/company). This is only possible if you are last user in this company. In main database backup data will be removed after 3 months (auto deletion of backups older than 3 months). Possible invoices or mail conservations with \*@btree.at will be deleted after 7 years. If you write me email to delete your account, present some proof that account belongs to you (e.g. company name). ### hive count statistic is wrong main reasons why your count may be off are if you use group hives, as they do not have historical data. Therefore group hive count is only visible in apiary count and always reflect current value. Another reasons why you count may be off is that if you delete hive it wont show up in statistics. This is true for all statistics, therefore you should set your hive inactive if it is lost or your sold it and do not delete it as all connected data will also be removed! ### About numbers visible in navigation numbers for tasks and to-dos indicate count of tasks still open / not completed. For apiary, hive and queen, numbers represent respective count. This web app was designed to help you keep track of recent and past beekeeping tasks of your colonies. basic idea was easy record keeping tool, which is mandatory for european beekeepers when applying medications and to help fulfil notation conditions (feeding, harvesting) for certified organic beekeepers. In addition, collected data can be used as basis for statistical analysis of beekeeping operation efficiency. As example, one can compare honey yield of apiaries or judge queens on their performance ratings. Although fill all your info in app, which is especially useful if you have more than one labourer in your operation, it was meant as addition to short and precise notes on your hives directly in field. Both in combination, notes on your hives and our beekeeping app as tool to keep record for statistically relevant data, will allow you efficient work in field while collecting data for measuring efficiency. app may be overkill for small hobby beekeeper with only one to two colonies, only if you like statistics and history data as we do it is still worthwhile. For big operation with more than thousand colonies it may be also not best fit, as labourer time management and material inventory is at that scale more of concern. We see app is best designed for intermediate beekeeping operation with few dozens to few hundred colonies, especially certified organic beekeepers and their obligatory record keeping. For queen breeders app could be good addition to keep record of queen performances and for beekeeper communities who share colonies, so everyone is on same track in their notes. As our web app will always give present you with latest data without syncing needs. ### Options It is not user friendly but best first step is to go into settings and define your select options. As nearly every beekeeper and country has its own methods for feeding, treatment etc. due to diversity it would make no sense for us to predefine these options. In our app set most of types in options [/setting/option/](https://app.btree.at/setting/option/checkup_types). Here set types for your colony checks and visits, eg. swarm happened, added propolis traps, alcohol wash or for your harvest sources, queen mating place and so on. If you set type as favourite it will be sorted first in your selection menu. other types are sorted alphabetically. also set types as inactive, this is best done for previously used types, because if you delete type which you already used your statistics and table may show you wrong data. Inactive types will not show up in your selection if you create new task (or edit) your task. ### Fields next step would be to select fields you want to use when adding new tasks. select them as per user basis in options [/setting/field](https://app.btree.at/setting/field). This means that every user in your operation needs to set them for themself. ### Apiaries apiary is location where your colonies are permanent or as migratory beekeeper only for period of time. To create apiaries is best next step to setup your app. This can be done best via our interactive apiary map [/map/apiary](https://app.btree.at/map/apiary). On this map double click anywhere to create new apiary on that location, via drag and drop move locations if you are not satisfied with it. It is also possible to edit latitude and longitude manually, if you have list of you locations it may be easier to create your apiaries in apiary table [/table/apiary](https://app.btree.at/table/apiary). On map you have button to print your apiaries location, slider to define bee flight radius and with eye symbol toggle inactive apiaries. If you need to delete apiary, it must be empty (no colonies actively on it). But be careful as it may chance your statistics if you did harvest on this location. Therefore, if you have apiary which was previously used, set them as inactive. This will preserve all data. ### Beehives / Colonies main focus of any beekeeping operations are our beehives. create new hives with separate form [/new/hive](https://app.btree.at/new/hive) or in table [/table/hive](https://app.btree.at/table/hive). With symbol near name show two more field which help you to create multiple colonies at once, they will be numbered and number will be at end of name. define starting counting number with "Start" field. - Name: Identification of you colony, in our experience simple number system works best eg. 2205 for 5th hive in year 2022. - Apiary: Selection of apiary location this hive belongs to, migration date is important because if you create task before this date system will not know on which apiary hive was. - Type: Selection free to use, eg nuc, swarm, breeding unit - Status: Historical or current status of hive, eg. sold, united, lost - queen failure, lost - AFB - Position: Position of hive on apiary, this position is also reflected in dropdown menus. If you don't use this field hive order will be alphabetically. - Collection Hive: use this entry as temporary collection point for multiple colonies, eg. nucs. ### New Tasks / Quicktool After finished setup your app to you beekeeping operation needs you are ready to create your first tasks. intended way is to use Quicktool [/new/quicktool/checkup](https://app.btree.at/new/quicktool/checkup). This tool was designed to quickly create checkup, harvest, treatment or feeding. chose type of task with first dropdown. next two selection are our "quick" part in tool. select here hives based on their location or select them one by one with hive dropdown. Most fields should be self explanatory as for date, each task could go over multiple days or one day if start and end date are same. button on side of date fields is to open two more input fields, to create repeating task, this is especially useful for task like feeding which follows pattern or treatment. "amount" field for feeding, treatment and harvest does have optionally dropdown for single and total. If you select total current amount will be divided by number of selected hives and equally split and saved. As example you harvest 200kg of honey on your apiary "" with 10 colonies. You select in Quicktool "Harvest", via first dropdown apiary "". date of your harvest and as amount you enter 200 with dropdown set to "total". If you now save task each colony on apiary "" will have new harvest with 20kg of honey. ### ToDo's They are meant as simple tasks which are not relevant for colony or statistics, e.g. bring new pallets to apiary or check water supply on apiary. best two options to create new tasks are on calendar [/](https://app.btree.at/) by double clicking on date you want new ToDo to be created or with form field [/new/todo](https://app.btree.at/new/todo). Only few fields are available and again create, as with tasks, multiple repeating ToDo's with icon on side of date. ToDo's are also only possible as single day events and cannot span over multiple days as other tasks are. ### Queens If you want to manage your queens in our beekeeping app is optional. Each hive can only have one active queen, active queen is decided by fact of date of introduction. This means if you re-queen one of you colonies you don't need to set your old queen inactive, adding new queen with more recent date of introduction will do job. Queens can be created with queen form [/new/queen](https://app.btree.at/new/queen). - Name: You unique identification, same as with hives you have possibility to create more than one at once - Birthday: Date of queen hatching - Queen Marking: Input field for queen labeling or colour, click on button on right to get current year colour. - Hive: Selection of hive(s), leave this field empty. If you leave it empty your queens will be available in special virgin table [/table/virgin](https://app.btree.at/table/virgin). This is useful if you have your queens in small mating units and already marked them for later insertion. If you select multiple hives same amount of queens will be created auto. - Date of introduction: date you introduced your new queen to colony. - Breeding line: Custom selection field example your bee breeder sellers name or father or mother breeding line, if it is swarm cell etc. - Mating place: Custom selection field e.g. to differentiate between mating places or artificial insemination. - Mother: Open input field for mother breeding line or any other notes on ancestry. Optionally select one of your own queens in next dropdown, if you used their eggs for crafting. If you linked queens via mother field view breeding lineage as pedigree tree on queen detail page [/table/queen](https://app.btree.at/table/queen). ### Charges Rudimentary tool to keep track of your stocks. We use it to keep track of our treatment material, sugar store and production amount. create new good receipt or outgoing goods with form [/new/charge](https://app.btree.at/new/charge) and have overview of your stocks as table [/table/charge-stock](https://app.btree.at/table/charge-stock). If we create new honey jar charge we write distinct charge identification number in corresponding field and in note field charge indent of harvest we used. With this pattern we can follow goods flow. As for sugar we use charge ident field for invoice number. As for outgoing charges we only to this twice year when we make stock count aka inventory in storage. If you have bigger operation better tools for this kind of job but for our small operation this works fine to keep track at least little bit and fulfil goods flow record keeping needed for our certification as organic beekeeper. ### Wax Cycle separate [wax cycle](https://app.btree.at/table/wax) documents wax lots and their movements independently from general inventory. typical own-wax workflow is: 1. Unweighed cappings or old comb remain origin info. Create first lot when measurable wax is available, usually as weighed wax block. 2. Book Store own wax, select required origin type, and optionally select source colonies. Their apiary locations are determined for booking date. 3. Book processing with one or more input and output lots. b.tree calculates difference between input and output as processing loss. Quantities are entered in kilograms with up to two decimal places. 4. Use purchases and contract processing for external wax flows, including supplier or processor and optional document or order reference. Use and sale operations reduce existing lot stock. 5. Correct mistakes with reversal entry whenever possible instead of permanently deleting records. Wax products and origin types can be defined for each operation directly from their dropdowns. product summary shows total stock and lot counts, empty lots are hidden by default, and complete wax ledger can be exported as CSV. ### Print Hive Records For record keeping or field work print summary sheet for any hive. Head to [Agent API documentation](/doc-agent) for setup instructions. ### Calender, iCal To get your tasks, breeding events and ToDo's onto your local calendar on your phone, Google Calendar or computer subscribe to our iCal endpoint. iCal is standardized format understood by most calendar apps. calendar will auto update, dependent on your calendar settings, and will show you past and future 6 months of events. You will need to subscribe to each task separately, eg. feeding, harvest, ToDo. calendar subscription is read-only, that means you cannot edit any task in your calendar. This API is for users who like to DIY. Our hive scale system was simple ([/HannesOberreiter/bScale](https://github.com/HannesOberreiter/bScale)) but we stopped working on it. plentiful of alternative systems on market and if you need professional setup, we recommend german producer [Wolf-Waagen](https://www.wolf-waagen.de/) and if you like open source and tinkering we recommend [HiveEyes](https://hiveeyes.org/), both have their own hardware and software solution. Our beekeeping app does not integrate with any third party hive scale, as we believe they already offer perfect software solution on their own. In addition to activate API you need also to first create your unique identifiers, this can be done on scale table [/table/scale_data](https://app.btree.at/table/scale_data) with dropdown button "scale". You need to create for each hive scale new identifier. Current limit is 10 identifier and per identifier you have one data transfer per hour. info on data your want to transfer is given with query params. Over limit returns `429 Too Many Requests` response with `Retry-After` header indicating when resume. --- ### Security Best Practices - Rotate keys regularly: Create new keys and delete old ones periodically - Use expiry dates: Set `valid_to` when you know key should only be active temporarily - Label your keys: Name them after agent or service using them for easy tracking - Monitor last used: Check "Last Used" timestamp in your key list to identify stale keys - Delete unused keys: If agent is no longer in use, revoke its key immediately Keys are hashed with SHA-256 + unique salt before storage. Even in unlikely event of database breach, your plaintext keys cannot be recovered.
