Privacy Notice (Data privacy statement)
The protection of your data is a special concern of ours. Therefore we process your data only according to legal requirements the EU General Data Protection Regulation GDPR and Telekommunikationsgesetzes (Austria) 2003. The following privacy statement will inform you about the most important aspects of data handling by our website.
If you contact us via e-mail your provided data will be saved for processing your request and for possible follow-up questions. We will not share this data with third parties without your consent.
If you do not agree with this, you can change your browser settings to being notified when you receive a cookie and given the choice to accept or decline it.
If you deactivate cookies this may have implications on the full functionality of our website.
Web-Analysis (app.btree.at & www.btree.at)
We use AWStats and Report Magic, the software only use pseudonymised Server Logfiles as source for the statistics. Additionally we use Matomo (app.btree.at) for more in depth analysis and per user basis inside the app. Each software runs on our own server and is not used by third party. Your IP address will be used only in parts (the last 8 Bits will be deleted) to determine your rough location.
Following Data will be used: Browser type and Browserversion (if from user transferred!), operation system, date and time of connection, amount of visits, time of visits on homepage, previous visited pages (if from user transferred!), pseudonymised IP.
Data processing is based on the following § 96 Section 3 TKG and art. 6 Section 1 lit a (Consent) and/or f (legitimate interest) of GDPR.
Our concern in the sense of the GDPR (legitimate interests) is the improvement of our offer and our website. Since the privacy of our users is important to us, the user data is pseudonymised according to technical possibilities.
The anonymous user data will be stored for the duration of three years.
Hosting & Log Files (app.btree.at & www.btree.at)
We, or our hosting provider (Hetzner Online GmbH Deutschland, tablegray gmbh Österreich), will automatically collect and store data on access to this website in so-called server log files in the sense of art. 6 Section 1 lit. f. GDPR.
These are: URL, Time and date of request to server, Data size, Browser type and version, Referrer, IP-address, Provider, Operating system of the user
Log file-data will be stored for the duration of two years for safety reasons and statistical evaluation and deleted after this period of time.
Database Backups (app.btree.at)
Daily backups are saved on Amazon Werbservice (aws S3 cloud) and are GDPR ready. After 60 days backups are automatically delete.
Payment Services (app.btree.at)
In order to fulfil contracts, we use external payment service providers on the basis of art. 6 section 1 lit. b. GDPR. We use the external payment service providers on basis of our legitimate interests art. 6 section 1 lit. b. GDPR in order to offer our users effective and secure payment options.
We use following external payment service providers: PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/) and Stripe (https://www.stripe.com/)
For payment transactions the terms and conditions and the privacy notices of the respective external payment service providers apply, which are available on their respective websites.
b.tree Beekeeping App (app.btree.at)
For the active use of our service and for the purpose of contract processing, the following data is stored with us:
- Beekeeping Operation Name,
- Username (not mandatory),
- E-mail address,
- Beekeeping Data (eg. Hives, Harvest, Apiary location etc., voluntary indications)
The data entered during registration and while using the application will be used for the purpose of using the offer. Data transmission is encrypted using SSL-Technology and stored in a database protected from access of unauthorized parties.
There is no data transfer to third parties. The stored data can be viewed at any time in the application and also be deleted. If the entire account is deleted, the data will remain in our backup system for 60 days. If we should delete an account for you, we need a clear proof that the account belongs to you. It is the responsibility of the user to secure their data upon termination. We are entitled to irrevocable delete all user data stored during the term of contract.
Right to forget, when there is no successful login for 5 years on the user account the data will be automatically deleted from the system (database and file server). User accounts that never have been activated after registration will be deleted after one week.
As part of login and use of the forum of the application, the IP address and the time of the respective user action will be saved. It is based on our legitimate interests, as well as the user’s protection against misuse and other unauthorized use. A transfer of these data to third parties does not take place, unless it is necessary for the prosecution of our claims or there is legal obligation in accordance with art. 6 sec. 1 lit. c GDPR.
External Services (app.btree.at & www.btree.at)
The Website und Beekeeping Application uses, on basis of our legitimate interests to provide better service for our users, contents or services offered by third-party providers are used (e.g. videos, weather service fonts).
- Meteoblue Weatherservice (Meteoblue AG, Schweiz, https://www.meteoblue.com/)(IP-address and current location if user gives rights)
- Openstreet Map (Opensource Project, https://www.openstreetmap.org/) (IP-address and current location if user gives rights)
- Dropbox (Dropbox Inc., https://www.dropbox.com) (Saving files, optional)
- iNaturalist (California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco https://www.inaturalist.org/ (API to get recent observations)
Data Processing Agreement
Agreement on data processing according to art. 28 GDPR, with following companies we have a data processing agreement:

- tablegray – tablegray gmbh, St. Stefan ob Stainz, Österreich (Hosting, Backup)
- Amazon Web Service (Backup)
You have the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and opposition. If you believe that the processing of your data violates the data protection law (GDPR) or if your data protection claims have otherwise been violated in a way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the data protection authority “Datenschutzbehörde”.
